Visit to Tordi Toda and Jawahar Kala Kendra

At Aayojan School of Architecture, where we firmly belive in education beyond classrooms, we organise regular events for our students to give them an on site exposure. A similar event, where the students of Second Year B were taken to a two places of Architectural Importance, one was historical, Tordi Torda and the other was a contemporary building by Master Architect Charles Correa.

Architecture Students visit to Tordi Torda and Jawahar Kala Kendra

Hadi Rani ki baori is located in Toda Rai Singh.Toda Rai Singh is a historical city situated in Tonk district and was established in the year 1901. It is surrounded by hills and this ancient is of great archaeological significance. In earlier times it was known as Takshakpur, Takshakagadha, Todapattan, Ishtikapur, etc. it was founded by Nagas in the 4th Century A.D. and this town was ruled by Chauhans of Ajmer and Guhilas of Chatsu.

Jawahar Kala Kendra, located in Jaipur is a multi arts centre designed by the Master Architect Charles Correa and built by Rajasthan Government. 

Architecture Students at Jawahar Kala Kendra

Correa's plan for the Kendra invokes directly the original navagraha or nine house rnandala. One of the squares is pivoted to recall the original city plan and also to create the entrance. The plan of Jaipur city based on the nine square Yantra in which one square is displaced and two central squares combined. the squares is defined by 8m high wall, symbolic of the fortification wall along the Jaipur old city
