Two second year students, Shubham Mathur and Vasu Jain have won the First Prize at ‘Mahi Roj 2017’.
A design competition was floated for designing products using waste materials as a part of ‘Mahi Roj’, which is the annual event organized by Anan Taya, Jaipur, from the 10th – 20th April, 2017.
The team developed a proposal for a ‘Bottle Cooler’ under the guidance of Mr. Vipul Verma. The bottle cooler draws its reference from the concept of cooling air by passing moist air through husk sheets, such systems have been in use in the arid regions of India for eons. The two main components of the product were plastic channels and plastic strips through which water would drip down at a very slow rate creating a water jali. When air would pass through this water jali it would cooldown, thus decreasing the internal temperature. The bottle cooler would not only help in regulating the temperature but would also add to the aesthetics of the building’s facade.
